School Search/Education Advice

For employees who are relocating with school-age children, securing a place at a suitable school should be a top priority.  At HCR, we ensure that schooling requirements are one of the first points of discussion between the Relocation Consultant and the employee (and/or their partner, where relevant). As many parents prefer to live somewhere with direct access to decent education for their children, the chosen school(s) will often determine where to concentrate the Home Search.

Each country, and in some countries - each state, has a unique schooling system. HCR’s Education Services will ensure that all variables are considered and that the right schools are selected for your employees’ children. Many expatriates choose an international school, for continuity of curriculum in relation to their home country as well as ease of integration and language compatibility.

Depending on the host country, we may be able to provide different levels of Education Service, allowing our clients to decide on the level of support they wish to provide to their employees according to requirements and budget.

A basic level of service will typically provide:

  • Published information of schools appropriate to the ages of the children within an appropriate radius of the place of work
  • Current waitlists/places available

A more in-depth level of service will typically provide:

  • Published information of schools appropriate to the ages of the children within an appropriate radius of the place of work
  • Current waitlists/places available
  • Further advice
  • Accompanied visits with an Agent/Consultant (optional)
  • Assistance with the process of obtaining a place for the child at the preferred school
  • Ongoing support

Our Destination Service Provider (DSP) for the specific country can instruct an Agent to accompany the family to school visits, where required, as part of an Area Orientation.
