We appreciate that moving to a new place can be daunting, so we do everything we can to make your employees and their families feel safe, welcome and happy in their new location and their new home.

AREA / COUNTRY GUIDES

We can provide area guides for about 500 locations across the UK.  Clients who use these guides report a significant reduction in the volume of easily answered queries they receive from relocating employees, which frees up time.

We offer several guide formats:

Online Area Guide… provides accurate, up-to-date information about a location and surrounding areas, with hyperlinks to relevant external websites, such as Local Authorities and tourist information.  Bespoke information on your company can also be included, such as HR and Personnel matters.

Guide to Living in the UK… produced and updated in house, our comprehensive Guide to Living in the UK prepares your inbound employees for UK culture.  It covers everything from an overview of the UK to how our transport, telephone, internet and postal systems work, even our weights, measurements and temperatures; plus vital information about healthcare, money matters, security and wellbeing.  It makes the transition for international employees far easier and helps reduce ‘culture shock’.

AREA ORIENTATION

An area orientation programme is designed to give your employee and their family a real ‘flavour’ of day-to-day life in the town or city they are moving to.  It is available for both domestic and inbound UK relocations and we can arrange for it to coincide with business trips to the new office, or with home and school searches, to ensure the most efficient use of your budget and time.

Our Local Area Consultant will design a personal, accompanied Area Orientation which focuses on issues identified as top priority by your employee and their family.  Typically it includes aspects such as:

  • Neighbourhood overview
  • Viewing of sample properties within budget guidelines
  • Schools and childcare options
  • Public transportation / journey to work and school
  • Sport, leisure, social activities and networking (this may include expat groups)
  • Medical facilities – location of doctors, dentists, hospitals
  • Local amenities – shopping, supermarkets, banks, Post Office
  • Culture-specific amenities
  • Places of worship and religion

This Area Orientation creates a smooth and seamless move to the new location, with minimal disruption to your employee and their family.  It is the ideal opportunity for them to ask questions and benefit from one-to-one contact with an expert on the specific area of the UK.

WELCOME PACKS

It’s the little touches which often make a big difference, which is why we’ve put a lot of care and thought into our welcome packs.

Every time one of your employees moves into a HCR property, they will find a welcome pack waiting for them; plus a personal greetings card and welcome letter from us.  The pack contains local leaflets, maps and tourist information, to help them familiarise themselves with the area and give them a ‘taster’ of places they can visit in their free time.  We can also provide contact details for local authorities and health facilities and any other bespoke information you may require.
